Round tables
A 180 cm round table usually seats 10 guests comfortably; a 150 cm table seats 8. Divide your guest count by seats per table, round up, then add one or two spare tables.
Long imperial tables
They look modern and fit more guests in the same area, but guests at the ends talk less. Ideal for family dinners and formal events.
Approximate area
Allow roughly 1 to 1.5 square metres per seated guest, not counting the stage, aisle and buffet. Aisles between tables must leave room for service and chairs being pushed back.
Extra chairs
Count chairs for the couple, the DJ and crew, and spares for guests who arrive without confirming. A small buffer saves the night at many weddings.
Majlis seating and sofas
In majlis and tents, seating is counted by cushion length rather than chair numbers, and every guest needs comfortable space with side tables for coffee.
