DJ with music
The most energetic option for large halls: Gulf and Arabic songs, a zaffa with a strong beat and synced lighting. It needs a properly tuned sound system so nearby tables are not overwhelmed.
No-music DJ
Sheilat, nasheeds and zaffa with percussion or vocal effects only. It suits families who prefer a celebration without instruments, and can be very lively when the playlist is built carefully.
Female DJs and ladies' bands
In the ladies' section the whole crew stays female from setup to dismantling. A live ladies' band brings the Gulf tagga feel and can alternate with the DJ.
Personalised zaffa
Recorded weeks before the wedding, with or without music, with lyrics reviewed before recording. Record one for the entrance and another for cake cutting.
How to decide
Think about your audience first: elders in the family, the type of hall and the length of the night. Many weddings combine two options — a DJ for the men's section and a ladies' band or female DJ for the ladies'.
